School Mission and Vision

School Mission

St. Maria Goretti School is a diverse and caring, Catholic elementary school serving pre-kindergarten through eighth grade students.  As an integral part of St. Maria Goretti Parish, we are dedicated to providing academic excellence infused with Catholic values.  Through an active and integrated curriculum, we strive to educate the whole child, in order to prepare him/her to become active participants and effective leaders in today’s Church and world.

School Vision

We at St. Maria Goretti School, as part of the St. Maria Goretti Parish and the Schiller Park/Franklin Park communities, are dedicated to providing academic excellence infused with Catholic values.  We commit ourselves to the education of the whole child:  academically, spiritually, physically, emotionally, and socially.  In a safe and caring environment, the life skills of the child will be developed so that he/she will achieve success in meeting the challenges of the future.

In a shared partnership, parents and teachers serve as models of Gospel values, and as educators who provide challenges which encourage the development of critical thinking and problem solving skills.

Our children are active participants in a faith-centered, academic environment.  Through experiences in the the curriculum, which foster a sense of self-worth, students are enabled to do their best, thus achieving their potential.

With an emphasis on peace, justice and Catholic social teachings, we at St. Maria Goretti School are committed to developing an awareness of the needs of our school, parish, local, and global communities.  The graduate of St. Maria Goretti School will be prepared to take an active role in Church and society, with an understanding of the present and a vision for the future.
